Ranks, Responsibilities, and Recruitment

Ranks and Responsibilities

Guild Leader

  • General guild management
  • Handling recruitment, promotions, demotions, and guild invites and removals
  • Discuss raid logs with Officers and Raid Leader when necessary
  • And just about anything else
  • The Guild Leader of <Exiles> is Solaeris

Officers

  • Handling questions or concerns from guild members
  • Getting items from the bank for guild members
  • Keeping an eye on the bank to make sure we are stocked with raiding mats – can be delegated to non-officer persons and promoted to the rank of Banker
  • Discuss raid logs with GM and Raid Leader when necessary
  • The Officers of <Exiles> are Dimisaurus, Smithers, Tiakatt, and Zysca

Banker

  • Regular guild bank maintenance including sorting bank tabs, keeping track of raiding consumables, vendoring or selling items via the Auction House if requested
  • This rank does not have officer chat access or officer responsibilities and the person at this rank is simply a Raider

Raid Leader

  • Knowing and understanding boss strats
  • Leading the raid through progression
  • Sending raid invites
  • Setting Minimum Performance Standards for Raiders and Recruits
  • Deciding a rotation (Mythic primarily, if we have more than 30 raiders, or if some Heroic encounters require a specific set-up)
  • Keeping the raid on task (fast wipe recoveries, minimizing downtime, breaks/afks)
  • Actively reading the Absences thread
  • Posting strats and videos
  • Log raids and upload them to Warcraftlogs after each raid, and discussing them with the GM and Officers when necessary – can be delegated to non-leadership persons.
  • Keeping a line of communication open with the officers and guild leader
  • The Raid Leader is THE BOSS during raids and while decisions regarding the direction of the raid may be discussed by the leadership team, the raid leader has the final say in all matters related to raiding.  This is the person you speak to during raids if you have questions, comments, concerns, suggestions, have to leave, need an extended AFK, what have you.  This is also the person you speak to outside of raids if you have a raid-related issue such as main switching or attendance (although it’s acceptable to speak to the GM or officers about these things because we do work as a leadership team.)
  • The Raid Leader of <Exiles> is Zysca.

 Raider

  • Maintain 100% attendance barring emergencies.  This applies to all raiders who seek to keep their raid spot.
  • Meet or exceed Minimum Performance Standards as set by the Raid Leader
  • Be up to date with your class; know and understand your class inside and out
  • Read boss strats and watch videos as requested by the raid leader
  • Come to raids prepared. While this means have consumables and gold on you, it also means carry enchanting mats or scrolls, tomes, and gems so you can immediately equip a new piece of gear
  • Post in the absences thread if you will be late or miss a raid. You may also text me. And yes, this does include normals and heroics; even though those are flexible, we would still like to know if you are going to miss in case you play a crucial role and we have to replace that role.

Recruit

  • Maintain 100% attendance during your two week trial (barring emergencies)
  • Meet or exceed Minimum Performance Standards as set by the Raid Leader
  • Be up to date with your class; know and understand your class inside and out
  • Read boss strats and watch videos as requested by the raid leader
  • Come to raids prepared. While this means have consumables and gold on you, it also means carry enchanting mats or scrolls, tomes, and gems so you can immediately equip a new piece of gear

ALL members of <Exiles> are to adhere to our Guild Expectations as found on our website.

Our recruitment process is relatively simple.  As a Recruit, you can expect to remain at that rank for no less than two weeks.  During this time, the leadership will be observing the following:
-Attendance.  Are you maintaining 100% attendance during your recruitment period?  If not, why?
-Attitude.  Are you able to take constructive criticism?  Do you ask questions where appropriate?  Is your presence a positive influence and would we as a whole benefit from having you in our raids?
-Performance.  Can you pull your own weight?  Is your rotation correct?  Are you using the proper abilities and cooldowns?  Do you know and understand the nuances of your class?
-Personality.  Are you a good fit for us?  Are we a good fit for you?   Are you passive-aggressive?  Are you a complainer, negative nancy, or a general annoyance, or do you add positively to discussions, do you have a sense of humor, and are you mostly a happy person?

After two weeks, the leadership will evaluate the above with you and address any issues or concerns.  At that time, one of three things will happen based upon the results of the evaluation:
-You will be invited to stay in the guild as a Raider and be promoted to the appropriate rank
-You will be invited to stay in the guild as a Recruit for an additional week, at the end of which the leadership will re-evaluate you
-You will be removed from the guild with an explanation as to why you are being removed

We seek to not waste anyone’s time, be it ours or yours, which is why our recruitment period is as short as it is.  Generally, we tend to know fairly early on if a recruit will be a good fit, and if he or she isn’t a good fit, the evaluation and removal will come before the two week recruitment period ends.  Odds are, if you make it to your two week evaluation, you’re going to be invited to stay on as a raider.
